The Faculty of Music at the University of Oxford is hiring a research fellow for the ERC-funded project Sonorous Cities: Towards a Sonic Urbanism.

This is a three-year post (starting March 2021) for an architect/urban designer/spatial practitioner or architecture theorist/creative practitioner with an interest in critical spatial practices – described as “works that operate between art and architecture, that test disciplinary limits, and intervene into sites in order to critique embedded power relations” (Jane Rendell 2003).

Candidates should have a demonstrable interest in community-based or socially engaged projects in architecture/urban design; an interest in working collaboratively with other creative disciplines; and an interest in architecture and sound (beyond acoustics).

For more information, see the job advertisement here. Informal inquiries should be directed to the project PI, Professor Gascia Ouzounian gascia.ouzounian@music.ox.ac.uk

Closing date for applications: 12pm 3 December 2020
