Jess Poole Jones

Urban Designer

I have experience in both the public and private sectors of urban design, landscape architecture and planning. I have a strong interest in researching and designing solutions to housing problems in Australian cities and our regional towns and neighbourhoods.

At the core of every habitable place is an urban character balanced between the housing typologies that form spaces and the societies that inhabit them. Its at this intersection where my love of cities and towns exists.

My explorations within cities focuses on the end user and their relationship with the city, bringing together theoretical concepts and technical experience to create locally relevant and people centered outcomes. I fluidly move through urban scales whilst testing outcomes throughout the design and research process.

I have experience in local government, as a practitioner and as a casual academic. I'm currently working in GHD's Melbourne office working across a range of projects including the Level Crossing Removal Program, Urban Design guidelines, strategies and master plans.
