Studio Director/PhD Candidate
Hayball/University of Melbourne

I’m an architect, exhibition designer and researcher with a focus on learning environments. I’m currently Studio Director at Hayball Sydney and a PhD Candidate as part of the Innovative Learning Environments and Teacher Change (ILETC) project at the Learning Environments Applied Research Network (LEaRN), University of Melbourne. My research focus is on defining the properties of environments which support team teaching, collaborative and interdisciplinary learning, and in supporting teachers to enhance their use of new spaces to support student deep learning.

Through my practice, I explore the potential for the built environment to support learning opportunities. My role centres on interpreting and bridging aspirations and understanding between educators and design teams through the briefing process and throughout projects. I’ve worked in-house as an exhibition designer within a number of leading cultural institutions in New South Wales and New Zealand, and as a result have an interest and passion in the translational thinking between educational and cultural sectors.
