<p>Yvette is an architect with a passion for people-centred design. She is the President of the Tasmanian Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects and a director of Morrison & Breytenbach Architects. The practice integrates social and environmental sustainability and equitable access as core design values. It has been widely awarded for its arts, educational, single and multi-residential projects in Tasmania. Yvette’s role includes developing big picture ideas, design concepts and team process that value-adds to the brief. She is fascinated by the application of colour and the materiality of architecture reflected in her emphasis on the delight that comes from the experience of carefully crafted spaces. </p> <p>Yvette spent her childhood in South Africa. She worked in practices in Johannesburg and Cape Town applying urban design skills to build community in low socio-economic housing projects. She settled in Hobart in 1991 after two years working in Cambridge, UK. </p>
