WA Office of the Government Architect

I am the Associate in the WA Office of the Government Architect.
In this capacity I provide strategic design advice on major state projects such as the new Perth Stadium, the WA Museum and Elizabeth Quay development, and lead significant design and planning policy initiatives.
As Chair of the OGA’s Design Excellence Working Group, which brings two tiers of government together with industry leaders, I am keen to foster cross-disciplinary collaboration and exchange in seeking to improve the design of our housing, parks, streets and public spaces.
Before joining the public service, I had a 10-year architectural practice career and was involved in significant education and civic projects awarded by both AIA and RIBA.
I have extensive experience in design review for government. A dedicated advocate for the value of good design, I have served on judging panels for a number of international design competitions, have been an Institute award juror, and have sat on academic boards and institutional design advisory committees.
I have expertise in strategic design, governance and procurement in the built environment. In addition to teaching and design jury roles at both UWA and Curtin schools of architecture, I have written on design for industry and wider audiences, and am told I'm an engaging public speaker.
