Olivia Hyde

Director of Design Excellence
Government Architect NSW

I am a registered architect with over 25 years of experience in Australia and overseas. As a practising architect I have worked for large firms and as a sole practitioner. I have been involved in projects across a wide range of scales including large infrastructure projects in Hong Kong, public buildings and spaces in Australia and Spain, urban design and small scale residential work. In the early 2000’s I won a teaching and research fellowship at the University of Michigan and since arriving back in Australia have taught design studio at UNSW, the University of Sydney and UTS. I also undertake occasional reviews for Architecture Australia and other publications. In my current role at the Government Architect NSW I am leading the review of design excellence across the NSW government and providing advice and review of significant projects and built environment policies.
