Castiel Shepp

Senior Landscape Architect
Hansen Partnership

I am a senior landscape architect with extensive experience working in local and international practice. I am inherently interested in the symbiotic relationships that we can create and enhance the relationship between the natural and urban environment through the practice of landscape architecture.

In my current role I provide creative and technical design in the delivery of complex urban, residential and environmental development projects. I consider my strong artistic, interpersonal and communication skills integral to engaging with stakeholders, conducting community engagement workshops and presenting creative and sustainable design solutions.
While studying in California, I was awarded the American Society of Landscape Architects Merit Award for outstanding academic achievement and industry involvement demonstrated in my volunteer design work for local community groups and residents. This helped me to kick-start my own landscape design business specialising in residential estate design.
Upon my return to Australia, I completed two postgraduate urban planning and environmental management degrees at RMIT University to broaden my understanding about how the practice of landscape architecture can coexist with the natural and built environment.
