Stephanie Smith

Principal Architect
<p>Stephanie is a principal architect (Lendlease), executive architect for the Renzo Piano One Sydney Harbour Towers (Barangaroo) and is developing new modular retirement living product.</p> <p>She studied architecture at the University of Sydney. Her Masters of Architecture (Research) at the University of Queensland was a study of self-constructed Aboriginal housing in north-western New South Wales, and was published in the book “Settlement: A History of Australian Indigenous Housing”.</p> <p>Stephanie co-founded the design practice Innovarchi, and has worked with John Andrews, Herman Hertzberger and Renzo Piano. She has received several awards, grants and scholarships. She has a range of teaching experience including: lecturer and tutor in Aboriginal Environments at UQ and in Design at UQ, QUT and UNSW. Stephanie is active in the wider profession – she was a facilitator of the Aboriginal Housing Conference, a state government Women in Business mentee, a mentor in the NAWIC/Australian Institute of Architects Mentor Program, she sat on the Australian Institute of Architects Housing Committee, has been a juror for the Australian Timber Design Awards and the NSW Institute Awards, and was a committee member for the new University of Sydney Professor of Architecture and the Advisory Board for the architecture curriculum.</p>
