Louise Cox

Past President International Union of Architects (2008 to 2011)

<p>Louise Cox was President of the International Union of Architects (UIA) from 2008 to 2011, previously UIA First Vice President and UIA Vice President Region IV, Asia and Oceania and then coordinator of the UIA Regional Heritage Work Programmes. Louise was Co-President of the UNESCO-UIA Validation Council for Architectural Education, a member of the UIA Education Commission which published a paper regarding Heritage Education for Architects in July 2008, and was a member of UNESCO’s Historic Urban Landscape working group from 2005 to 2011. She represented UIA on the UN-HABITAT World Urban Campaign steering committee and chaired the UN-HABITAT Professionals Forum from 2010 to 2014. She has had wide experience in heritage, conservation, institutional and health planning, and contract administration of major health and institutional projects. Louise served as President of the NSW Chapter of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) from 1988 to 1990 and as President of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects from 1994 to 1995.</p>
