POD (People Oriented Design)
<p>Belinda is a director of Cairns-based firm POD (People Oriented Design).<br /> Her years of practice in North Queensland have given her an intrinsic love and understanding of landscape and climate. She has specific expertise in the area of sustainable tropical design in research, community engagement and architectural practice. Belinda has co-facilitated public workshops, delivered lectures to tertiary students, and has delivered presentations about sustainable design to public and industry groups. Belinda is well known for her comprehensive construction knowledge and extensive experience in diverse sectors of the industry in remote and regional areas.<br /> She has an interest in humanitarian architecture, most recently working with ARUP and the community at Atoifi, Solomon Islands, for the design and documentation of a pedestrian bridge to a remote hospital TB clinic. She has worked in post-disaster recovery, assessing damaged buildings and project-managed reconstruction following cyclones and fire. </p>
