<p>Luisa Manfredini is Principal of mm+j architects based in Manly. Luisa has extensive experience in residential alterations and additions with an interest in heritage works. </p> <p>A registered architect in NSW, Luisa has a broad involvement in the wider architectural profession. This includes: public speaking as tour leader for the Australian Architects Association Sydney City Skyscrapers Walk (current), curator for Architecture on Show an initiative by the Australian Institute Australia (2013), chairperson of the Lower North Shore Small Practices Group LOWAN (2006-2009), LOWAN Representative of the Chairs of Practice Networks, representing small practices on the AIA NSW Chapter Council (2006-2009) and is soon to be appointed as new examiner on the Architects Registration Board NSW. </p> <p>Passionate about women in business, in 2013 Luisa founded Wo-Manly, a women’s business networking group. The group operates in Manly for the local area and environs bringing women together to connect, collaborate and support the community. She is also interested in teaching with Sydney University.</p> <p>Luisa describes heritage restoration as a labour of love. She possesses an appreciation of solid materials and was awarded the Mosman Good Design Award 2007 for Mosman House 01 project. </p> <p>As part of the Northern Beaches Council Strategic Committee she suggested that Council provide a local recycled building material centre to take items from building sites, retail, commercial etc. for re-sale to the public a way to retain beautiful old assets and which is also good for the environment.</p>
