Shelley Penn Architect
Shelley Penn is a Melbourne-based architect, urbanist and non-executive director, whose work is driven by an enduring commitment to improving public outcomes, and enriching culture and sustainability through advancing the quality of the built environment.
In addition to her architectural practice, established in 1993, Shelley has worked with government and the private sector since 2000, in senior roles and as an independent strategic advisor for the procurement and delivery of excellent outcomes for projects of all types and scales. She is currently the University Architect, advising on campus quality, and an Adjunct Professor in Architecture Practice at Monash University; and is also an Associate Professor at the Melbourne School of Design, Melbourne University. Shelley is a board member of several organisations including the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA), Office of Projects Victoria, and Open House Melbourne; and a non-executive director of the ACT Suburban Land Agency and Infranexus Management P/L which manages several public infrastructure assets throughout Australia. She is a member of state Design Review Panels in Victoria, ACT, NSW and WA, and a frequent participant in design evaluation for private and public projects.
