Alison McFadyen

<p>Alison McFadyen is a senior architect at Phillips/Pilkington Architects a multi-award winning practice. She joined the practice in 2012 and was appointed as an Associate Architect in 2015. Prior to joining Phillips/Pilkington Architects she worked at Troppo Architects and Hames Sharley Architects. Alison has had a wide range of experience in residential, commercial, retail, hospital, institutional, educational and master planning projects across all phases. Alison was a key team member for the UniSA Learning Centre project where she coordinated architectural, interior and landscape design. She is a sessional staff member at the University of South Australia, tutoring in the architectural design studios.<br /> Alison is an active member of the Australian Institute of Architects, recently as a juror for the 2017 State Architecture Awards for the Heritage and Small Projects categories and for the Sustainability category in 2016. She has also been a coordinator for One.One Adelaide an initiative that brings people in the construction industry together to share their skills with students in practical projects. In 2013 One.One constructed a bar and venue in one day which opened to the public that night and received a Commendation in the 2014 AIA (SA Chapter) Awards Program for Small Projects.<br /> Alison studied at the University of South Australia graduating in 2009 with a Master of Architecture winning many prizes including the Woods Bagot Scholarship for academic and design excellence. In 2016, Alison won the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Young Achiever in Construction Award and has recently been awarded a  Scholarship to study leadership through Women and Leadership Australia. </p>
