Katie Devitt

Graduate architect
Jacobs

Katie is a mature-age graduate of architecture. It is a change of career for Katie but she brings to architecture a multitude of skills from her previous career as an asset and IT project manager.

Katie has worked in project-based environments for over 20 years and she understands the necessary mechanics of ensuring good project outcomes and maintaining clear and continuous project stakeholder communication. Katie is particularly interested in schematic design, conceptual thinking, and design discussion.

For her Master project, Katie chose a guerrilla project to re-conceptualise the University of Sunshine Coast new campus to be built at the old Petrie Mill site. She designed an Information Exchange building, a new form of library, that would cater to the university and bridge the gap between the campus and the local disenfranchised community.

Katie is currently working as a graduate architect at Jacobs on transport projects. At Jacobs she works in an environment that invites all to collaborate, share innovative ideas and best practices, and help clients find the best solutions for every project.
