Debjani is a Registered Architect in both NSW and India and has worked across a diverse spectrum of projects. Debjani began her career in India before moving to the Netherlands and then to Sydney where she has worked on a series of health and community projects of different sizes. A significant achievement for Debjani was the project lead role she played in the Sutherland Hospital Operating Theatre project and the Western Cancer Centre Dubbo.

Debjani is part of the AIA “Practice of Architecture Series” (PALS) Working Group and a PALS tutor. She is also a mentor through the AIA National Mentoring Program, and tries to focus on mentoring expat women architects. She has been part of the SONA SuperStudio NSW 2020 jury and ARC Centre of Excellence in Exciton Science Light Ideas Design Competition jury https://excitonscience.com/lightideas. Debjani is a Board member for Biyani House Revesby Shelter, which is a crisis accommodation for women and kids fleeing Domestic Violence.

She also has a keen interest in the interface of art with architecture. She was part of the team that organised eLuminate Festival 2014 in Cambridge, UK. She collaborated with ARTeConnect to create a bamboo pavilion which provided the backdrop of the events at EDGE Ashfield 2019 - a community festival that marks the end of the autumn harvest.
